Cadets: Earn your rocketry badge and AEX credit for your squadron at the 2022 Group 2 Rocketry Challenge! Build and launch three (3) different types of rockets, including the

Alpha II and Loadstar II (included thanks to a gracious donor). Instructional materials and videos will be included throughout the event.

Compete against other rockets

Compete against the rockets your peers build by seeing whose rocket lands closest to the target and which rocket reaches the highest altitude!

2 A8-3 engines for the Alpha III and 1 B6-0/A8-3 engines for the Loadstars will be provided. Additional engines should be provided by the cadets.

Open Class Launches

Any rocket that passes the safety inspection can be launched, including rockets built by Adult Members. A prize will be awarded to the most innovative design that flies.

Cost and Deadline

The activity fee is $21. This covers supplies, lunch, snacks, and drinks throughout the day (special thanks to Capt Perry's crew). Also includes rocket supplies such as Alpha IIIs and Loadstar IIs.

Two cadets build a rocket for a Civil Air Patrol Model Rocketry event.

Prerequisites

Cadets must pass the three online tests for Model Rocketry found in the eServices Learning Management System (LMS) and bring their certificates to the activity.

Loadstar II rockets must be built at home prior to the event. 1 launch load will be provided.
